we were a smidge late to the actual ceremony b/c it was in Forest Hill and we were slightly confused as to the actual churchs location. and it wouldnt be an adventure w/o Paul and i having trouble finding our destination. but, we finally found it and hurried on in. it was a Catholic ceremony, so i went through the motions and what all and repeated all the prayers and had a horrible high school flashback from it lol. and then i of course started giggling when the priest kept saying "peace" due to Dane Cook's comedy bit about churches being permanently stuck in my brain.
after the ceremony, and once everyone had walked out into the lobby, then came the weird part. the whole introducing yourself/shaking hands/hugging people bit that youre supposed to do. me, being socially awkward, was slightly worried, but got over it quickly. i introduced myself to the grooms parents and for some odd reason, his father gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. i asked other people that we were talking to, who didnt know Ricky's parents either, if they had that happen to them. no, none of them did. haha why does weird shit always happen to me? lol whatever. i told that story to my mother and she said that he was probably happy to see me, looking at nice and innocent and girly, as opposed to some of the more flamboyant people that were in the Hot Topic group that we were hanging out w/. though i did not escape the question of whether or not i worked at an HT.
after we all cleared out, we headed over to the Peach Bottom Inn for the reception. it was a couple minutes away from the church, and Lucas knows the area well, so a bunch of us caravaned and followed him. basically everyone from Hot Topic[and their guests, myself included] sat at a table together. it was cool meeting new people and having random conversations and what all. i think i was the only one w/o a visible piercing and/or visible tattoo at the table. haha i looked completely normal :). the food was tasty and the DJ was embarassing. i am so making a list of songs entitled "DO NOT play these or i will kill you" for my wedding reception. once the electric slide and the cha-cha slide started happening Paul and i made a run for the door. it was too embarassing to watch haha. we found our way home very easily and i was in the house by 11.
due to a wicked headache that plagued me all night, i took some medicine and turned in early. boy it felt good to sleep it off.
